Abstract

Sharing the data that underlies a published article requires motivation on the part of the author, which is a big hurdle in itself. More than that, data sharing requires having an infrastructure that allows others to store, obtain, and manipulate data that potentially may be very large and unwieldy. The data must be annotated in such a manner so that others can understand how it was generated and what it means.
