Abstract

To make a hydraulic gate project a success, good design is not enough. Moreover, obtaining a good design also requires more than the involvement of good designers. This chapter gives a global overview of processes that make part of a hydraulic gate project, focusing on the control means of these processes. As such, the provided discussion is more of a management than technological nature. Project management lies, generally, beyond the scope of this book. Nevertheless it is desirable that engineers and specialists are aware of other processes making part of the project than the processes in which they are personally involved. This concise discussion aims to increase such awareness.
