Abstract

Chronic shoulder pain is a common and debilitating condition that can be difficult to treat. The efficacy of multimodal interventions is limited, and many patients are seeking out additional therapies to relieve their pain. Radiofrequency ablation is a novel procedure that has been demonstrated to help patients with chronic shoulder pain. This chapter serves as a step-by-step guide to performing radiofrequency ablation of the shoulder. Furthermore, topics discussed in this chapter include the etiologies of shoulder pain, anatomy of the shoulder, indications and contraindications for ablation, perioperative considerations, and potential complications of the procedure.
