Abstract
The development of green finance has a strong bearing on the development of energy efficient and low carbon technology innovation. The development of low carbon technology requires infusion of capital by the governments as well as private sector. This further emphasizes the importance of green finance in the context of environment-friendly measures. This study adopts an integrated approach and analyses published records of articles on the twin theme of green finance and low carbon technology innovation. The study traces the evolution of these terms and also the direction and quantum of research that has been published. The study performs an analysis of highly cited works to decipher what has already been researched. In the next stage, the study reviews the contemporary research articles to identify the gaps that exist in the literature. The study finally recommends the new and emerging research areas in the field of green finance and low carbon technology innovations.
