Abstract

Consumer products and their underlying chemistry have altered our planet over the past 50years. On one hand in modern society, we take for granted the plethora of plastic objects, agricultural pesticides, beauty and personal care products, and medicines that are readily available. On the other hand, we know that many of the chemical compounds that are a major part of our daily lives can have negative effects on the health of organisms including humans. In this compendium, we focus on these contaminants that possess hormonal-disrupting activities.
