Abstract

The progress and development of three-dimensional (3D) printing have substantially contributed toward additive manufacturing and direct manufacturing of essential metal parts, which are quite intricate for modeling. Direct energy deposition (DED) is one of the methods widely used for polymer printing of 3D metal objects; in this chapter of the book we have comprehensively discussed its working principle along with its advantages and disadvantages.
