Abstract
The BZip2 file compression algorithm is an interesting case study in parallelization because the algorithm has inherently sequential stages. However, it can still be sped up using the pipeline pattern. Implementations are give in both Intel Threading Building Blocks (TBB) and Intel Cilk Plus.
