Abstract

This chapter applies the frequency response and time domain integration methods illustrated in the previous chapters to study the harvesting performance of two, four, and N degrees of freedom electromagnetic vibration energy harvesters (EMVEHs). The two methods are generalized for analysis of any degree of freedom electromagnetic vibration energy harvesting systems and used to verify the results of each other. The applications of the multiple degrees of freedom (MDOF) EMVEHs have been reviewed in small and large scales. The large scale applications of vehicle suspension vibration energy harvesting, civil structure vibration energy harvesting using the MDOF EMVEHs have been illustrated.
