Abstract

Because of the vast amounts of pesticides applied in agriculture, ground- and surface water have been contaminated. As a result of pesticides widely used in agriculture, residues found in rivers, lakes, seas, soils, groundwater, and even drinking water, provide evidence that these chemicals pose a high risk to human health, and toxicity to nontarget organisms. This chapter examined the adsorption capacities of chemical compounds in pesticides in aqueous solutions onto polymeric adsorbents.
