Abstract
This chapter introduces the main types, basic features, and existing forms of submarine shallow natural gas; describes acoustic wave, seismic reflection, geophysical logging, and geochemical methods to identify the submarine shallow natural gas and gas hydrate; discusses the distribution role of submarine shallow gas and gas hydrate in China offshore; discusses the hazard mechanism, engineering risk, and prevention countermeasures for the submarine shallow natural gas.
