Abstract
Integration of the highly linear and nonlinear thermomechanical behavior of shape memory alloys (SMAs) has been successful in finite element solvers such as COMSOL Multiphysics, ANSYS, and Abaqus. This chapter aims to present and specify the best approaches to integrate available SMA models into those codes and evaluate their performance, highlighting limits, potential, and advantages.
