Abstract

Inflammatory bowel disease is often associated with complications, including stricture, fistula, anastomotic leak, and abscess. Endoscopic therapy plays a critical role in the management of those complications. Successful endoscopic management relies on careful planning, including personnel, sedation, room setting, equipment, and supplies. Adequate bowel cleansing makes the procedure smoother and safer. Proper training of endoscopic assistant and endoscopic nurse is critical. Anticipation of next motion and back step is important. Endoscopist and his or her team need stay alert and be ready to take an action, in case procedure-associated complication occurs.
