Abstract

Energy is an important basic resource for the development of human society. Under the pressure of global warming and the continuous decline of fossil energy, the development of renewable new energy has become a top priority for all countries. Unlike conventional fossil energy, biofuel is one of humanity’s most important renewable energy sources and a storable, renewable energy source. It has the characteristics of wide distribution and large reserves. The development and utilization of biomass energy contributes to energy conservation and emission reduction, and is an important way to achieve a low carbon economy. It has broad prospects for development and is expected to gradually replace the new energy sources of increasingly depleted petrochemical energy. Hence, this review focuses on the current utilization and research progress of biomass energy and analyzes the advantages and potential of biomass energy. The biomass energy industry has a broad development space, and the technology will continue to improve. Some energy consumption structures purify the environment and promote rural economic development. Vigorously developing biomass energy is of great significance for alleviating the world’s energy supply tension, safeguarding energy security, reducing pollution and optimizing the environment, and promoting the development of rural and agricultural industries.
