Abstract

The novel and advanced field of nanotechnology-based drug delivery systems was established for the therapeutic delivery of synthetic and natural anti-oxidants. This new nano-drug delivery systems approach not only enhanced and improved half-life, solubility, stability, permeability, side effects, and bioavailability, but also enabled targeted drug delivery in both the in vivo system and in vitro system, resulting in higher efficacy of clinical practices. This chapter summarizes recent progression and advancements in the nano delivery of synthetic and natural bioengineered anti-oxidants and their application to combat pathological conditions associated with different diseases.
