Abstract

Metal nanoparticle-based catalysts are highly significant for the production of essential chemicals due to their easy recycling and convenient reusability as well as high activities. In this book chapter, we discuss the latest developments on the synthesis of supported nanoparticles and their applications for the chemical processes involving the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and related compounds. In particular, we summarize nanoparticle-catalyzed hydrogenations and aminations for the synthesis and functionalization of pharmaceuticals and their intermediates.
