Abstract

This book chapter presents a multilevel optimization framework for resilient multienergy carrier distribution system day-ahead scheduling problem. The energy distribution system utilizes distributed energy resources to supply its consumers. Further, the nonutility parking lots of plug-in hybrid electric vehicle aggregators (PHEVAs) and electrical energy storage aggregators (EESAs) can sell their electricity to the distribution system. The PHEVAs and EESAs contribution strategies can change operational paradigms. The problem has multiple sources of uncertainty: intermittent power generations, shock parameters, and ESSAs and PHEVAs contribution scenarios. The framework has a three-stage optimization process. At the first stage, the optimal dispatch of control variables is determined and the preventive actions are carried out. At the second stage, the on-event corrective actions are implemented to restore the critical loads. Finally, at the third stage, the postevent corrective actions are performed to the restore dispatchable loads. The algorithm is successfully assessed for two test systems.
