Abstract

The use of nanotechnology in today’s fast-growing world has led to the application of material sciences in the field of nanotherapy for skin cancer treatment. Nanoparticles have constantly been upgrading the available treatment possibilities by considering the specific properties of nanotechnology in relation to cancer cells. The use of nanotechnology-based techniques helps to provide more efficient delivery to target cells. It minimizes toxicity due to various modifications with targeting moieties that provide the desired effects to the site of action. Nanoparticles and nanotechnological materials are found to provide skilled cytostatic delivery systems to target tumor cells, thus, escalating therapy effectiveness and the survival rate of patients suffering from skin cancer. Skin cancer has shown enormous growth in the past few years worldwide, and provides many obstacles like slow-growing forms and, thus, remains undetectable for many years. This chapter describes the various novel approaches of nanoparticles that have been used in skin cancer treatment.
