Abstract

The biological phenomenon has been at great transformation and stage of excitement with the advent of omics technologies from genomics to other omics-based techniques such as transcriptomics, metabolomics, interactomics, connectomics, ionomics, lipidomics, and metagenomics. All these omics technologies provided an in-depth technical framework of genomes, genes, expression patterns, metabolome and their networks, ionome profile's, total lipid contents, and investigation of microbial diversity in undesirable habitats. This chapter provides a global overview of omics technologies and their role in the in-depth analysis of diverse aspects regarding human health, cellular and metabolic dynamics, growth and metabolism, and disease biology.
