Abstract
Additive Manufacturing (AM) techniques produce scaffolds with controlled geometry and interconnectivity through the progressive application of layers of inorganic and polymeric materials. Nanostructured scaffolds enhance the capacity to mimic complex properties of the natural bone environment and provide a more favorable environment for cellular attachment, ingrowth, and bone formation. The present work has the scope to summarize the efforts of manufacturing and characterizing nanostructured composites fabricated by AM techniques, which aim to accelerate the process of regeneration of bone tissue.
