Abstract

Graphdiyne (GDY), a new two-dimensional (2D) carbon allotrope with single-atom thickness that features unique sp-sp2 carbon atoms, uniform pores, and highly π-conjugated structures. GDY has been synthesized, and its aggregate structure was fabricated with different dimensions, such as nanowires, nanotube arrays, nanowalls, nanosheets, ordered stripe arrays, and 3D frameworks. The fascinating structure and electronic properties of GDY make it a potential candidate carbon material with many applications. This chapter should provide the readers with the comprehensive update on the synthesis of GDY and GDY-based materials, as well as their applications as catalyst, rechargeable batteries, solar cells, electronic devices, magnetism, detector, purification, biomedicine, and therapy.
