Abstract

Bioactive compounds have health benefits for humans and plants, making them popular in medicines and naturopathy. Microorganisms or plants generate these substances and enzymes. Today’s agriculture must produce more with fewer chemical fertilizers and pesticides, which harm the environment. Due to plant pressures, the yield has dropped significantly. It has biotic or abiotic stress. Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) promise a large agricultural development platform. These microorganisms in the rhizosphere or above the roots benefit plants. Stresses include ion toxicity, pathogen susceptibility, physiological dysfunction, salinity, temperature, floods, pH, and others. PGPR adapt to these stressors in various ways. Direct and indirect mechanics apply. The plant benefits from PGPR’s synergistic and antagonistic interactions with microbes. This review examined all PGPR systems and sustainable agricultural development research.
