Abstract

This chapter presents familiar facts about circular functions in a form that brings out their similarities and dissimilarities sharply. The hyperbolic functions are analogs of the ordinary trigonometric, or circular, functions. The lemniscate functions arise in rectifying the arc length of the lemniscates.
