Abstract

The competitiveness of biopesticides within the market is taking potential forward steps. The industry is adding eco-friendly products that can be amalgamated within any integrated pest management strategy. Biopesticides in agricultural production make it possible to obtain food free of residues. However, there are regulatory constraints where generalized international legislation is required that will accelerate the development and use of biopesticides. Small and medium-sized companies that embark on this process need substantial support from researchers, producers, and regulatory authorities so that biopesticides can compete with conventional chemical pesticides responsible for environmental hazards and residual toxicity. The future of biopesticides is relative to regulatory procedures. There are opportunities, and the challenges and development of biopesticides will now be influenced by biotechnology because the integration of microbial and biochemical agents in biopesticide activities via transgenic platforms is taking shape. To facilitate the registration of biopesticides, cooperation between governmental agencies and commercial entities will need a thorough overhaul. In several cases, present regulations are eliminated because of better comprehension of the exposures and risks.
