Abstract
With the rapid growth and advancement of emerging applications and the evolution of the various technologies, it generates an enormous amount of data from various sources. Generally, these sources generate the data in various forms and structures and are also voluminous; thus, managing these types of data is one of the major challenges in the current era. Moreover, analyzing, processing, and storing of data is still a challenging task and becomes more complicated and also leads to competition in the business management area. One of the primary applications related to big data is the healthcare domain. With consideration of this role, this chapter provides a vast investigation into various technological tools and focusses on the impact of big data in the healthcare application domain. Also, this chapter aims to discuss the various concepts related to big data analytics, the technologies and tools enabling the rapid growth of this field, and the real-world use cases in depth. Further, it provides a detailed introduction to big data, the big data life cycle and its impact, and managing big data in healthcare applications. Finally, we have discussed the importance of big data analytics and its impact on Covid-19 with current state-of-the-art methods.
