Abstract

In this paper, the chaos and its control in aeronautical gyroscope system are investigated by non-feedback method. The chaos dynamical behavior can be judged by the sign of the top Lyapunov exponent. The Khasminskii's spherical coordinate formulation and the extension of Wedig's algorithm are used to compute the top Lyapunov exponent. It is found that, the chaos can be suppressed by exerting a random noise to the phase of the system. Also, the Poincare map analysis, phase portrait and time evolution are given to further verify the obtained results.
