Abstract

Each year the country's higher educational institutions graduate hundreds of thousands of specialists. The craving of young people for a higher education is an altogether normal phenomenon. A large proportion of those who complete secondary school set themselves the goal of obtaining a higher education. According to data of the Sociological Laboratory of Urals University, (1) 70-80% of the students in graduating classes of daytime schools in the city of Sverdlovsk prepare themselves for student status in a higher educational institution. We shall not be concerned here with the extent to which these plans correspond to requirements for specialists of higher skills.
