Abstract

Diabetes mellitus remains a serious social problem, as it leads not only to loss of efficiency, but also to disability and death. Objective. To establish the features of disorders in the excretory renal function in the early stages of the development of experimental streptozotocin-induced diabetes mellitus. Material and methods. The experiment was performed on 32 sexually mature non-linear males of white rats. Experimental groups of animals were injected intraperitoneally with streptozotocin at a dose of 70 mg/kg. In the experimental groups of animals, slaughter and further studies were carried out 11 days after the administration of streptozotocin, 21 days and 31 days, respectively. A quantitative assessment of the state of proteins in histochemical preparations was performed with bromophenol blue according to the method of Mikel Calvo. Results. One of the most formidable complications of diabetes is diabetic nephropathy, the pathogenesis of which has not been fully clarified, and its diagnosis in the early stages of the disease is difficult. The conducted studies showed that along with the development of proteinuria, kidney damage manifests itself by a primary increase in the glomerular filtration rate and changes in the diuresis of experimental animals. Conclusions. The primary possible mechanisms of the development of diabetic nephropathy are disorders of glycosylation, overloading of functioning nephrons with protein and growing energy inputs in the proximal and distal tubules of the nephron.
