Abstract

January 2012, the IEEE Electron Device Letters (EDL) enters a new era with the change in its Editor-in-Chief (EIC). After 12 years as the EIC of the EDL, Prof. Y. Taur is stepping down. Yuan has been an extremely effective EIC and an agent of change for the EDL in a period of time when many challenges and changes have been presented to the Electron Devices Society (EDS) and to technical publishing in general. Under his leadership, EDL has continued to flourish technically and financially in addition to achieving shorter time-to-publish. To continue with the rich history of EDS publications and EDL, we are extremely happy to announce that Dr. A. Chatterjee has agreed to become the new EIC of EDL to replace Yuan. Amitava was a member of the editorial board under the leadership of Yuan from 2001 to 2010 and a major contributor in maintaining the quality, timelines, and standards of the journal. A brief biography of Dr. Chatterjee is provided.
