Abstract
The isoenzyme pattern of creatine kinase in isolated cells from the rat jejunum mucosa has been studied. While in mature cells from the villous tips the MM isozyme is the predominant form, in undifferentiated cells from the crypts the BB isozyme is predominant. Therefore, the shift from the B type to the M type upon maturation should no longer be considered as exclusively characteristic of the skeletal muscle cells.
