Abstract

(Abstracted from Br J Anaesth, 115(6):861–866, 2015) Recovery procedures for fast-track surgery are under near-constant review to determine optimal treatment strategies to facilitate the safest and quickest recovery of patients. The fact that up to 30% of fast-track surgical patients experience moderate to severe pain for 2 to 4 weeks after surgery is a cause for concern.
