Abstract

Flow-Accelerated Corrosion (FAC) is a pipe wall thinning phenomenon to be monitored and managed in the power plants with high priority. In previous study, the test of wall thinning due to FAC was conducted by the test loop under the condition of actual equipment. However, the condition is high temperature and pressure, so it is difficult to comprehend the flow structure in the pipe and the knowledge about the correlation between the flow property and the wall thinning due to the FAC is not enough. In this study, the flow structure in the test loop was evaluated by the CFD analysis. And the evaluation results of wall thinning rate by the predict model of the FAC and test data were compared. It was found that the predict model gave close agreement with the test data.
