Abstract

This paper considers problems of testing equality of means assuming coefficients of variation to be common and homogeneity of coefficients of variation in inverse Gaussian populations. The likelihood ratio, Lagrange-Multiplier, and Wald tests are developed and Monte-Carlo simulations are conducted to compare the powers of these tests for selected sample sizes and various alternatives. The simulation results report that the likelihood ratio test is consistently more powerful than the other two tests.
