Abstract
Abstract CEN 38Cr2 and 38CrS2 are medium-carbon, 0.5% Cr direct hardening alloy steels that are also suitable for flame or induction hardening. These steels are low hardenability steels that are generally used for water-quenched parts of moderate section size and for oil-quenched parts of small section size. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, and joining.
