Abstract

Immunodeficiency diseases are infrequent but not rare diseases which present major problems for diagnosis, treatment and prevention. Since Bruton originally described agammaglobulinemia we in Minneapolis have discovered and studied more than 500 cases of immunodeficiency disease. Most of the patients with these diseases appear to be suffering from disorders of development of the lymphoid apparatus which are genetically determined.
