Abstract

Extract This special Jubilee Issue celebrates 50 years of publication of the New Zealand Veterinary Journal. The Journal was initially established by the New Zealand Veterinary Association to serve as “a personal journal for the veterinary profession in New Zealand” and was first published in September 1952. Since then, it has grown to become internationally recognised as a high quality, peer-reviewed scientific journal publishing articles on all aspects of veterinary science, including animal welfare, health and production. The Journal specialises in articles related to the pastoral farming of cattle, sheep, deer and horses, and in research and clinical experience on companion animals and wildlife that is particularly applicable to New Zealand.
