Abstract
We investigated four resected cases of hepatic angiomyolipoma observed by residual contrast agent in the post vascular phase of Sonazoid-enhanced ultrasonography. In this study, localization of macrophages in the tumor was examined pathologically using immunostaining for CD68. CD68-positive cells were revealed in the tumor in all cases. The density of CD68-positive cells was >100/mm2, and the ratio of the density compared with the surrounding parenchyma was >30%. We concluded that the remaining contrast agent was related to the density of CD68-positive cells.
