C. ; Harris, W. E. Abstract The authors report on BV photometry of the distant globular cluster Palomar 4, obtained with the CCD system at the Cassegrain focus of the CFHT. The resulting color-magnitude diagram, to V(lim) ≡ 24.8, suggests that the main-sequence turnoff of Pal 4 appears at V ≡ 23.8, (B-V) ≡ 0.45. Approximate isochrone fits indicate that the cluster is of intermediate metallicity, and is probably only slightly younger (⪉2 - 4 Gyr) than the more familiar, inner-halo globular clusters. In agreement with another recent CCD study by Christian and Heasley (1985), the authors estimate the distance of Pal 4 to be 100 kpc.
