Abstract
To the Editor.— In editorially discussing mitral valve prolapse as another cause of cerebral ischemia (236:2783, 1976), transient or otherwise, Hussey mentioned other causes, such as bacterial endocarditis, marantic endocarditis, and mitral valve stenosis complicated by atrial fibrillation. An additional major differential diagnostic consideration was omitted, namely, cerebral embolism originating at variable intervals from a previous left ventricular transmural myocardial infarction (196:133, 1966).
