Abstract
Objective To investigate the causes and prevention of lid crease furcation after correction procedure of upper blepharochalasis.Methods According to the anatomy of the aging upper eyelid,the sagging musculus orbicularis oculi above the medial and lateral canthus was removed,delaminated and brisemented in the correction procedure of upper blepharochalasis by incision method to make the upper eyelid crease natural radian above the medial canthus and mild upswept above the lateral canthus and to avoid furcation.Results After 3 to 36 months follow-up,all the cases in this group acquired satisfactory shapes whithout furcation.Conclusion The key to prevent furcation of lid crease after correction procedure of upper blepharochalasis is removing,delaminating and brisementing the sagging musculus orbicularis oculi above the medial and lateral canthus.
