Abstract
Abstract Y-TexR Tick Tags (Y-Tex Corp., Cody, WY), containing 10% chlorpyrifos were applied to Hereford steer calves on Mar 14’78. The cattle originated at several locations in eastern Wyoming. They were randomly assigned to pens of 10 animals each. Two pens of steers received an ear tag in the right ear, 2 pens received ear tags in both ears, and 1 pen received no treatment. All cattle were inspected prior to treatment on Mar 14 and then Apr 13’78. Lice inspection areas were 3, 6-inch hair parts on the head, brisket, neck, backline and rump-tailhead. Viable lice were determined posttreatment by microscopic examination.
