Abstract

In the title compound, [Cu2(N3)4(C4H12N2)2]n, an azide-bridged polynuclear copper(II) complex, each Cu atom is coordinated by two N atoms of N,N-dimethylethane-1,2-diamine and four N atoms from four azide bridges in an octahedral geometry. The [Cu(C4H12N2)] units are linked by bridging azide ligands, forming chains running along the b axis. The azide ligands form two types of bridges, μ1,1 and μ1,3, which give alternating four- and eight-membered rings in the polymeric chain, both of which are centrosymmetric.
