Abstract
Two passengers, from a total complement of 99, were briefed to display the symptoms of major spinal injury including lower body paralysis, after the simulated aborted takeoff of an aircraft. These two subjects were comprehensively debriefed. They described thew experiences from the time that the ‘accident’ occurred, through the sequence of rescue phases to their discharge from hospital. The conclusions drawn and recommendations made ue in the content of the simulated exercise.
