Abstract

The Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre (“ADNDRC”) is a joint undertaking between the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (“CIETAC”) and the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (“HKIAC”). Since it began accepting disputes on 28 February 2002, ADNDRC has considered cases through both its Chinese and Hong Kong offices and, as of the beginning of November 2002, ten decisions had been issued. The Hong Kong office of the ADNDRC has, so far, received eight complaints. Of these: three were withdrawn; two cases are pending; two domain names have been transferred; and one complaint has been rejected. The three decisions made so far by the Hong Kong office of ADNDRC are discussed below. All decisions were made by single panellists.
