Abstract
Significant differences are observed between long-wavelength multiquantum-well (MQW) and bulk distributed-feedback (DFB) diode lasers in terms of their gain-switched dynamic performance. Through careful comparison of experimental and theoretical results, carrier transport is found to be particularly important in determining gain-switched operation. >
