Abstract
Abstract A well-organized camp improves morale and safety. Within this camp, space must be found for a health clinic with appropriate medicines storage. While medical diagnosis is important, appropriate nursing and safe administration of drugs are vital to caring for anyone who is ill or injured. Food must be stored and prepared hygienically and provide a varied diet of appropriate energy content. Adequate amounts of clean and safe water must be available for drinking, cooking and washing; the purification system used will depend upon the volume required and quality of local water. Good sanitation is essential, and the techniques used will depend upon the local environment.
