Abstract
This is a comprehensive review of cardiovascular physiology beginning with the dynamics of the normal heart and concluding with a discussion of pathologic states (including congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, valvar disease, cardiomyopathies, pericardial disease, shunts, and cardiac effects of pulmonary disease). Well written, liberally illustrated, and heavily referenced, it will enjoy a broad spectrum of reader appeal. It is a worthy addition to existing texts on heart disease.
