Abstract

Renal cell carcinoma is well-known for its metastatic potential and a quarter of the patients present with advanced disease. However, the occurrence of a metastatic renal cell carcinoma without a kidney primary lesion is very uncommon. Herein, we present a case of a 46-year-old male patient with neck lymph node metastasis of a carcinoma of unknown primary site with papillary renal cell carcinoma features without a primary renal mass, highlighting the diagnostic and therapeutic challenges of this rare neoplasm.
