Abstract
1. 1. Carbonic anhydrase (CA) activity has been found in a wide variety of amphibian tissues. 2. 2. In both Ambystoma tigrinum and Rana catesbeiana, blood CA levels in the adults were higher than those found in the larvae. 3. 3. For the most part, aquatic amphibians had lower CA levels than did more terrestrial forms.
