Abstract

Arrays of carbon nanofibers with high aspect ratios were fabricated from polymer pillars prepared by nanoimprinting using anodic porous alumina mol ds. In the present study, arrays of polymer pillars with an aspect ratio of up to 120 were obtained by nanoimprinting using a photocurable monomer. Then, carbon nanofiber arrays were formed from the polymer nanofiber arrays. The ordered fine structures of the polymer nanofiber arrays were successfully maintained even after heat treatment for carbonization. The obtained carbon nanofiber arrays are expected to be useful for various applications.
