Abstract
Torayca T700S is a unidirectional woven fabric designed for retrofitting existing concrete structures. Its unique fabric structure ensures excellent welding capacity and workability. This material may be used in CF-sheet applications (including UD prepreg, UD sheet, and UD cloth) in place of the steel retrofit method conventionally used for reinforcement against bending and shear of such structures as road-floor slabs, piers, and building columns. It is so light that the weight load to the structure can be neglected, while its physical properties make the retrofit work easy. The authors consider further experimentation with this material and a collection of relevant data under varying structural conditions are essential before it can be used widely.
